Allgemeine Informationen

Wichtige Informationen
Welcome to the Open Science Advanced Course! This course (in English) is a follow-up to the Open Science: Basic Course.

This online course builds on and extends the Open Science Basic Course. It both deepens the content of the Open Science Basic Course and provides modules on subfields of Open Science that were not discussed in the Basic Course. All in all, the Open Science Advanced Course covers the following topics: Open Science Policies and Strategies, Research Data Management, Open Access Models and Publishing, Citizen Science, Legal Questions and Alternative Measures of Research Impact. The course was created as a European project, which is why it refers to many practical examples in an international context. The course provides an excellent source of knowledge for everyone with an interest in Open Science, a movement which becomes more and more prevalent in research and teaching.

It is recommended to complete the Open Science Basic Course before starting the Open Science Advanced Course.

We wish you good luck and lots of new insights!

If you want to get 3 ECTS credits for the course as a key qualification, for the ADILT or in the context of your Erasmus studies, you also have to register for the course in ZEUS. Furthermore, you still have to register for the examination yourself. Please note the deadlines of the university! Each module includes a final test. After successful completion of all six tests (each at least 65%, max. 3 attempts) you have passed the present course. Usually no grades are given in key qualifications, if they are required in your course, please let us know by emailing the course administrators.

You can post your questions and comments in the forum at any time. We also offer office hours for the course twice a semester. These give you the opportunity to ask questions about the course content and, if you wish, to discuss specific topics in more detail. All consultation hours take place digitally in BBB. You will need headphones and ideally a microphone to participate. The dates will be announced here in ILIAS.
